God Can Restore What You Didn’t Mean to Lose (2 Kings 6:6-7)

Does anyone here have the spiritual gift of losing things? Raise your hand. Do you have someone in your family who has this gift? You seem to lose things all the time. Your keys, your wallet, your purse, the remote, whatever. You can’t find your sunglasses, and you are wearing them. We laugh about all this because we all misplace things and lose things that we don’t mean to lose.

But some things we lose are hard to get back, if we ever get them back. You may have lost a friendship. Maybe you are going through a difficult season in life, and you have lost your peace, lost your joy, or lost your sense of purpose. Maybe you have lost your trust in someone that you thought you would always be able to depend on. Maybe you have lost your spiritual passion and your intimacy with God. You don’t feel close to God like you used to you. Maybe something has been lost between you and your spouse, or you and one of your children. Continue reading

When Life Demands Too Much (2 Kings 4:1-7)

What do you do when what you have or who you are is not enough? What do you do when life gives you more than you can handle? What do you do when you are giving everything you’ve got, but it is still not enough? What do you do when you look into the cabinet of your life and realize you don’t have enough? You don’t have enough energy. You don’t have enough patience. You don’t have enough forgiveness. You don’t have enough love. You don’t have enough money. You don’t have enough time. You just don’t have enough. Continue reading

When You Cannot Take Anymore! (2 Kings 3:9-14)

One thing I know about every single one of you is, you need God. Whether you know it or not, you need His presence. And because you need Him, you need something from Him. Some of you, it’s a miracle in your marriage. You need him to show up and bring healing in your marriage. Some of you, you need God’s presence as a parent as you train and guide your child through middle school and high school. For some of you, it’s a miracle in your finances, you need help and provision from heaven. For some of you, it’s a miracle in your body, that the report is not good, and you need a touch from the healer in heaven. For some of you right now, you are an emotional mess. You are anxious, overwhelmed, worried, afraid, depressed, or angry. You need a peace from heaven that only God can give. Some of you, you need God’s presence at work and in your daily life and routine. Continue reading

I’m Spiritually Stagnate (1 Kings 19:19-21, Part 2)

There are times where you may feel spiritually stuck. It feels like you are not growing spiritually, your prayers seem to bounce off the ceiling, and doors of opportunity are not opening. You feel like you are going through life doing the same thing over and over and over, but not getting anywhere or making a real difference. You feel spiritually stagnant. You get up, go to work, go to school, fix dinner, do laundry, go shopping, go to church, read your Bible, go to a Bible study, watch TV and whatever. You find yourself doing the same thing over and over again and it doesn’t feel like you are making an impact or headed anywhere in your life.

That’s where we find Elisha right before God was going to interrupt his life with a great purpose. Continue reading

I’m Spiritually Stagnate (1 Kings 19:19-21)

Today, I want to talk to those who might be spiritually stuck in your faith. You feel like your faith and spiritual life have become stagnant. You don’t feel like you are moving forward in your faith and if you are you feel like you are moving at a snail’s pace. You feel like your spiritual life is missing something. Yet, there is this part of you that desires more spiritual growth and more spiritual passion and more spiritual impact. Yet, what you are experiencing is more of the same and more of what you just had. You feel like you are going through the routine spiritually, but nothing is really happening. For some of you, you may feel like you’re living below who you know that God created you to be. And it’s not that you don’t care, you actually do care. Some of you have been like me at different seasons of my life where you are genuinely praying and seeking God, but your prayers don’t really feel effective. Or you are reading the Bible, and you want to hear from God but sometimes His voice just seems distant. And sometimes, you are worshipping God and you really want to feel His presence, but you just can’t seem to feel Him. This is when you feel like you are just PLOWING through life. Someone just say, “I’m just plowing.” Continue reading
