Always Victorious: I will not fail (Isaiah 54:17)

If this is your first time here, my name is Jeff. I’m one of the pastors here at Genesis. You have come at a good time.

Because next week we begin a new sermon series called Body Language. God gives us a lot of instructions on how to treat each other. He has given us several statements called the “one another” statements: love one another, encourage one another, forgive one another, serve one another and the like. These one another statements will help in your relationships. You take these and apply them to your spouse, you apply them to your parents, you apply them to the people you work with or go to school with. If there is a relationship you think you need to work on this Body Language is for you. That begins next week.

Today, we conclude our summer series called Always True. We have been looking at five promises of God that are always true. Today we look at the fifth one: God is always victorious and because of that you will not fail. We are not talking about perfection, but we are talking about when it’s all said and done you win because you belong to God. Continue reading

God is Always Faithful: I will not give up

We are in a series of messages called Always True. We are looking at five promises of God that deal with who He is and what we need. The better we understand God and His promises the better we will understand our own lives and how to live them.

Today we are examining the faithfulness of God and how that impacts our endurance and perseverance in living for Him. Today’s lesson is called “God is Always Faithful: I will not give up.” There are going to be times in your life when you feel like giving up and you feel like the situation is too much for you and you want to call it quits. It’s at those times in your life you need to remember God’s promise to you regarding His faithfulness to you. Continue reading

God is Always Good: I will not despair

We are in a series of messages looking at five promises of God that deal with who He is. The better we understand God the better we will understand our lives. Today we are examining the goodness of God and how that effects your outlook on life. Today you will learn that because God is always good you do not have to despair. We are going to take the perspective on life called despair and the character of God called the goodness of God and pull them together so that we see and know that God is always good and as a result I never need to despair

Let’s start with Psalm 27:13 where we hear the psalmist say, “I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living” (NASB). Let’s talk about despair for just a moment. Continue reading

God is Always with Me: I will not fear

Throughout the Bible you find God trying to heal our fears by reminding us of His active presence in our lives. One example is found in Psalm 23:4 where David wrote, “Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me” (NLT). Today I want us to focus on those two things: being afraid and the presence of God. Continue reading
