Every follower of Jesus has an obligation and opportunity to pray for missionaries and spiritual leaders in their life. Here are seven things you can intercede over their lives mentioned in Scripture.

 Pray for Opportunities

“Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. Pray for us, too, that God will give us many opportunities to speak about His mysterious plan concerning Christ” (Colossians 4:2-3, NLT).

 Pray for Boldness

“Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere. And pray for me, too. Ask God to give me the right words so I can boldly explain God’s mysterious plan that the Good News is for Jews and Gentiles alike.” (Ephesians 6:18-19, NLT).

Pray for God’s Word to Spread Rapidly

“Finally, dear brothers and sisters, we ask you to pray for us. Pray that the Lord’s message will spread rapidly and be honored wherever it goes, just as when it came to you” (2 Thessalonians 3:1, NLT)

 Pray for Deliverance and Protection

“Pray, too, that we will be rescued from wicked and evil people, for not everyone is a believer.” (2 Thessalonians 3:2, NLT)

Pray for their Ministry to be Accepted

“Pray that… my service… may be acceptable to the saints there.” (Romans 15:31, NIV 84)

Pray for Divine Guidance and Assistance in Travel

“Pray that I may be rescued from the unbelievers… so that by God’s will I may come to you with joy….” (Romans 15:32, NIV 84)

 Pray for Refreshment

“Pray that I may… come to you with joy and together with you be refreshed.” (Romans 15:32, NIV 84)
