God never intended you to live the Christian life alone. Throughout the Bible we are given various “one another” statements to apply to our lives. These involve loving one another (1 Thess. 3:12), encouraging one another (1 Thess. 5:1), serving one another (1 Peter 4:10), forgiving one another (Eph. 4:31-32), accepting one another (Rom. 15:7), honoring one another (Rom. 12:10), motivating one another (Heb. 10:24), and praying for one another (James 5:16), to name a few. It’s impossible to apply these in isolation. One of the best places to experience Christ at work is in a Life Group (a small group of believers ranging from 4-20 in number, that usually meet in a home for prayer, study of God’s Word, and fellowship). How does being a part of a Life Group help you mature as a follower of Jesus?

Understanding: You will grow in knowledge of God’s Word

Everyone has questions about what the Bible says or what the pastor taught last week. A Life Group is the perfect place to ask your questions, discover answers, and grow in your understanding and application of God’s truth in your life.

Community: You will begin to feel like a part of God’s family

Many people who have been a part of a Life Group say the greatest benefit is the close relationships and friendships that develop. You will discover that your needs and problems are not unique – we are all in the same boat. It helps to know that others are facing the same difficulties, or have lived through them and learned spiritual principles in the process.

Significance: You will make an impact in others’ lives

Not only will you be able to bless and impact the lives of those in the group, but you will also be able to make a difference in the lives of those in the community. Most groups choose a ministry, a family, or some need in the community to invest in, bless, and support in some way.

Encouragement: You will receive support when you need it

We all get discouraged in some way. From time to time we need that special prayer, a word of encouragement, or some godly counsel to get us through the valleys of life. God uses Life Groups to provide the inspiration or healing that is often needed throughout life.

Growth: You will mature spiritually

Everyone starts out spiritually immature, but God wants His people to grow and experience the abundant life that comes from knowing Him and growing in Him. A Life Group is a great place to start.
